“See, I have made you a god unto Pharaoh”
I have always been amazed at these two words-Blindness and Deafness. They generally represent a handicap or a deprivation for most people as blindness is many times related to darkness and we all know darkness is the “absence of light”. In essence, if you are blind, you have no form and you are void because that was the state of the world before God said “Let there be light”. If you need to know what state you are in, please buy the tape. Hey! but wait! see what wikipedia defines blindness as – Blindness is the condition of lacking visual perception due to physiological or neurological factors.
The interesting part of this definition for me is the visual perception. In fact, if I would redefine blindness, I’d say it’s the condition of lacking visual perception due to physiological, neurological, environmental and spiritual factors. Albeit I have found out that a handicap in one of our five senses usually results in a compensation for that loss by an upgrading of some of the other good and available ones to complement the deficient one.
Helleen Keller was quoted as saying “what is worse than blindness is having eyes and not being able to see”. She was blind at 16 months; she authored several award winning books; she could speak 3 different foreign languages and she was also deaf. Stevie Wonder has been able to write, sing and produce many award-winning songs. Ray Charles held the world spell bound in his time. Someone said “your most important eyes are not on your head but on your mind.” Why isn’t this strange? The most precious metals in the world are most times not found on the surface of the earth. You need to dig deep to find them. Black gold (crude oil) hardly flows on the surface of the earth. Even when it does, it’s in little quantities; for there is depth at you reach while digging at which the oil will gush out under pressure to several hundred feet above the ground. On E! channel on Multichoice/DSTv, I sometimes watch a blind doctor perform some complex plastic surgery on humans. He’s very good at this. How does he do it? He must be seeing with some other eyes than those on the surface of his head. I guess this is true for the above mentioned stars as well. Even our own award-winning producer/pianist Cobhams is in this category as well as Prophet Obadare, the famous tele-evangelist and miracle worker.
Something funny struck me while writing this post. Have you observed the word BLIND critically? You’d notice that this word isn’t the “disability to see”, because it has an “i” (eye) right in the middle. Certainly, the eyes that are important are not the surface eyes (those on the head). They are the inner eyes (those in the mind). The Bible refers to some people as “having eyes, but they cannot see”. I therefore think BLIND isn’t the “disability to see” but the “inability to see”. No wonder Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians that “God would grant them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the EYES OF THEIR UNDERSTANDING BEING ENLIGHTENED THAT THEY MAY KNOW……”
I have started asking myself some questions recently and of such is “Are my eyes (surface) a distraction to my eyes (inner)? Am I digging to see or am I seeing at the surface. Even if you were blind, you still have an I (eye) in the midst of the BLIND to see. Are you “disabled” or are you “inable or unable”.
Your perception- the process of acquiring, interpreting, selecting, and organizing sensory information depends on which eye you are using to see. So WHERE ARE YOU BLIND? On your HEAD-EYES (for we were like grasshoppers in their eyes) or in your MIND-EYES (for they are bread in our eyes) .
If you have “eyes” and can see, then click on this link www.newnigeriaclub.net/ododooro and sign up for a new quest only those with seeing mind-eyes will be on.

Madness, Boldness then Blindness. May the nesses never stop. Let me give you tips. Effectiveness, uniqueness, cleanliness and Godliness. you go ahead, don’t stop.
THE ESSENCE OF VISION
It does not take sharp eyes to see the sun and moon
nor does it take sharp ears to hear a thunderclap
Wisdom is not obvious
You need to hear the subtle and notice the hidden
That is see what no one else is seeing
and hear what no one else is hearing
to be VICTORIOUS
Cheers man
don’t forget laziness
Deep stuff… very deep stuff.
Great piece, Helen Keller’s story never seizes to leave me sober. We’ve got absolutely no excuse for being ‘blind and superficial’; we’ve got so much more within than what our eyes can see.
Like Biola said, keep the ‘nesses’ coming.
Keep up the good work.
Great piece man. I remember the story of Walt Disney who “saw” mountains and stuff in a plain land. They thought he was mad, but he could see what others with their own eyes could not see. It took several years for these people to see it,after Disneyland opened. But Walt saw it before he died, he saw it in his mind.
