“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”
I discovered the importance of “thinking” my way to success during my career as a bull rider. I started bull riding with the amateur bull-riding circuit. Not long after I moved to the top of the amateur bull-riding circuit. I YEARNED to join the professional bull riding association, so I LOOKED to the top for a TEACHER. I met and STARTED A RELATIONSHIP WITH A WORLD CHAMPION BULL RIDER who lived in my area. His name was Gary Leffew.
After getting my professional cowboy association permit, I went back to
When I finished, I went back to
Now, some people might think this is crazy, but I yearned to ride a bull. On one visit to
When
The next lesson I learned was about association. “Who you hang around with,”
I didn’t win the world championship eventually; but I DID WIN A LOT OF RODEOS, AND I DID MAKE A LOT OF MONEY RIDING IN THE PROFESSIONAL BULL-RIDING CIRCUIT. This cowboy eventually left the rodeo circuit and married a wonderful woman. We now OWN ONE OF THE LARGEST EMPLOYMENT AGENCIES ON THE
I guess I’m still thinking my way to the top. My name is Richard McHugh.
LESSONS FROM THE BULL RIDER.
- Decide what you want to do with your life and be sure about it.
- Desire (YEARN) to be best or among the best “top 10%”.
- Seek out (LOOK FOR) a mentor (TEACHER) in your field.
- Make sure your teacher is the best or one of the best (WORLD CHAMPION) at what he does.
- Develop a RELATIONSHIP with your mentor.
- Change your association – eagles look up, chickens look down. Leave the bottom (AMATEUR) league and move to the top (PROFESSIONAL) league of your career or influence area.
- Shift your paradigm-feed your mind positively with relevant information.(engage in learning).
- Visualize – what you see is what you get.
- Act – Go do what you have visualized at stop at nothing to succeed.
- Win and win again – The laws of success are generic. Once we succeed in one thing, we can succeed in others.
