Every enterprise is built by wise planning, becomes strong through common sense and profits wonderfully by keeping abreast of the facts. (TLB)…Proverbs 24:3, 4
Which of you intending to build a tower does not sit down first and consider the cost?…..Luke 14:28
Planning is the Key to success.
In school, when you fail an exam you have to resit. Resitting implies that the first time you took the exam; you didn’t “sit down” properly. So now, you need to make adjustments to your sitting down and take the exam again. Most students, who fail, do so because they fail to plan and not because they are not intelligent. One needs to find what works for himself or herself and work on that.
Rev. Sam Adeyemi in his 1st year in the university scored 29% in math in the 1st semester of that year. In the 2nd semester, he decided to fast and pray and ended up with 28%. He lost 1% probably as a result of hunger from the fast. In the 3rd semester, he determined to engage in more spiritual exercises by fasting and praying more than he did previously. He got back the 1% he lost previously and scored 29%.
He suddenly realized that no amount of spiritual exercises could earn him good grades if he didn’t change his approach. So, he decided to collaborate with those who were getting A’s and his lecturers. It was no wonder that he had excellent grades at the end of the 4th semester and never failed again throughout his stay in college.
If your current approach is not working, please change your style. The importance of planning cannot be overemphasized. The Bible says in Hab2:2 – Write the vision and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it. The realization of every goal or dream is to plan. You can plan your way out of poverty into prosperity etc
1948, study on all graduating students in Yale. Only 3% had clear ideas of where they wanted to go in life and had written them down in detail and planned step by step how to get there. 10% had a vague idea of where they wanted to be but didn’t write them down and didn’t plan them. The remaining 87% just went on believing things would turn out right after graduation. 25 years later – 1973. They contacted them all and found out that the 3% that wrote down their plans had accomplished between 50 to 100 times more than the 10% that didn’t write their plans down. The remaining 87% are not even ranked in the equation at all.
No aircraft is allowed to fly from an airport without a flight plan. The pilot must submit a flight plan which must have been approved and signed before he can be allowed to take off. Many people are not flying high and long because they haven’t submitted their flight plans to God for approval, so they haven’t been cleared for takeoff from above. Your goals must be
a. Achievable
b. Believable
c. Concrete

No magnificent edifice is built on sketches or from just from his thinking. Accurate and well laid out plans must be made before it can be built. If your life is a masterpiece, then please plan it out, otherwise your life will be built like a hut somewhere in an African village.
