I write this post with a lot of pain in my network heart. How on earth will I be subscribed to a network provider that has made it impossible for me to load airtime on my mobile phone for about 10 days now. I use MTN – The largest mobile phone network provider in Nigeria and arguably the largest in Africa as well. MTN moved into Nigeria and started operations in 1999.

I got my first phone in 2003 and since I didn’t buy it myself, I didn’t have an opportunity to choose which network I’ll use. Anyway, I got stuck with MTN and since they were going about peddling themselves as “the best connection”, I saw no reason to change my network or be displeased with them. (more…)

Yesterday marked a memorable day for the online industry in Nigeria. Notable online writers or bloggers as they are popularly called from all parts of Nigeria came together at Elomaz Hotel, Maryland, Lagos to spark off a new movement in the online industry while the World Bloggers Conference was going on in Las Vegas, USA. I can hear someone ask “What exactly is blogging?” and to that I answer,

“If you are reading this now, you are reading my blog. If you still don’t understand, please indicate as a comment and I’ll get back to you”.

“Who were the bloggers represented at the conference?”

“Popular and successful bloggers like Deolu Akinyemi, Gbenga Sesan, Olumide Alabi and others”. (more…)

A few days ago, I sat watching a movie with my family late at night. The title of the movie is Kung Fu Panda. The movie was an animation by dreamworks. I had looked forward to seeing the movie not only because it was a cartoon (I love cartoons), but also because it was martial arts (I love martial arts as well).

Po (Jack Black) is a panda who works in a noodle restaurant owned by his goose father Mr. Ping (James Hong), who hopes that Po will one day take over the restaurant. Po is a kung fu fanatic with secret dreams of becoming a great master in the discipline. However, his weight and clumsiness make his goal difficult to attain. (more…)

“The only way to say it is “Thank you for the impact you have made in the lives of the people. The testimonies of yesterday, I’m sure, will be said in the next 20 years and you guys will be at the receiving end. Thanks for being a blessing to this generation. I quite appreciate.

And also for the huge cheque dropped, thank you. I know it will get better for AGESS with people like you and people like me ready to bless them with what we have.

I gat to go.”

Tuesday this week, I was back in my alma mater – Obafemi Awolowo University to speak to the students of Agricultural Engineering department. November, this year will make it 3 years since I left that department. I spent 7 years in that school studying for a 5-yr course. I’ll leave the gist of those 7 yrs for now…but i remember very vividly that just before I left, I opened my mouth and passionately declared

“I’ll be back in 5 years (more…)

I’m sure you’ve all heard about Sarah Palin, the Republican’s Vice Presidential nominee for the November, 2008 elections. She’s supposed to run side by side with John McCain. I watched some part of the Republican National Convention on CNN yesterday especially the aspect that highlighted her speech. No doubt, she stole the show last night and raised a few questions in a lot of minds. She couldn’t help but throw punch after punch at Barack Obama – Presidential Nominee for the Democrats. Anyway, this morning while looking through the internet on their respective experiences which is the crux of the matter, I came across this simple chronology of achievements. Please enjoy and determine who is better experienced.

I came across this article today and couldn’t help but make up my mind to post it. I’m surprised though not shocked to discover that girls or women as the case may be are becoming as sex-hungry as boys or men are (Bussee, wake up and smell the coffee). Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying i thought the female folk were anti-sex. It’s just that so much emphasis has been placed on the man’s sexual drive for so long that it became common place to discover that in relationships, the sex-longing party was the guy. Or if the reason for the break-up of a relationship was sex, then it must have been the guy asking for it?

So, you understand how reading this article made me feel. I’m scared about the kind of place our world is turning into and can’t help but say  at times “Come, Lord Jesus to take your own”. LOL. (more…)

Hi guys, i’ve been away for a while not for lack of things to post. I just felt very much like reading others and not writing for a while. I came across this article in the papers and since it touches a core part of my passions – The Church and the Nation; I thought to share it with you. Please enjoy reading and note: I didn’t write it. However, I don’t disagree with some part of it…….some part of it i said

It is perhaps pertinent at this stage of our history, at this turn of our political and socio-economic life, while searching for lasting solutions to our myriad national problems, to take a look at the contributory factors induced by religion. My focus is on our modern day version of Christianity, Pentecostalism, which seems to be the in-thing nowadays. It is no gainsaying that it is perfectly normal nowadays, that for one to be socially acceptable, one must be a Christian. A Christian not just in terms of accepting the doctrines of the Christian church as it was said to have been postulated by Jesus Christ, but to be born again.

Religion, which ordinarily should have been (more…)
