I never left you

Hi readers, I wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year. I’m convinced that this year will bring you your hearts’ desires and more. Keep reading at this blog and i promise you, we’ll have a swell time this year. As I reflected over the past year about 2 days ago, i found myself learning a point or two from a movie I watched that same day.

I sat down to watch a movie titled “Aragon”. I had actually seen the movie before even though I didn’t pay it much attention then. I saw some of my friends watching it on a particular movie channel on cable TV and decided to join in. The story is supposed to be an Epic/Sci-fi. A particular boy gets an egg-like rock which actually contains a dragon that is about to hatch. He was required to save a particular queen once he had the dragon in it’s matured state and he could ride it. Actually, it was his destiny to be a dragon rider, which made him some kind of messiah whose revelation and manifestation the people of the environment had long awaited. Some king and his wizard had held the people bound and sought to keep them in permanent bondage. Only the dragon rider could bring them hope and deliverance bla…..bla…….bla…..please go and get the movie if you haven’t seen it yet.

Not long after the boy got the silver blue large egg-like substance, it hatched and began to grow. The day he carried it and tossed it into the air as part of it flying lessons, the dragon finally successfully took to the air and though it went as a baby dragon, it returned a female adult dragon called “Sapphira”. In one scene of the movie, the dragon snatched it’s rider and carried him far into the against his own will. On putting him down after a while, the dragon rider discovered that his uncle had been killed by those who sought his life. He felt so sad and blamed the dragon for carrying off when his uncle was been attacked. The dragon (who could talk to him) tried to explain to him that he would have been dead had she not carried him off but he disagreed with her. In his anger, he told her rudely to get away from him.

A little while later, he discovered that he needed her desperately and had to reach out to her to come and help him( she could hear his thoughts and he could hear hers). He swallowed his pride and called out to her from the depth of his heart asking ” Sapphira, please can you find us?” . Immediately, she replied back to him “I never left you” and swiftly swooped down to meet him where he was.

I couldn’t help but pay attention to that sentence – “I never left you.” It suddenly seemed to hit me. That’s what God has been trying to tell me all through the later part of the year and perhaps you too. All through the harsh economic occurencies, when it didn’t seem as if anything made sense; when stocks crashed and real estate lost value in the west; when start-up businesses didn’t fly as much as I desired; when I didn’t seem to be realising my goals set for the year; when I couldn’t stop asking myself, what’s happening? “I never left you” He said to me.

God never left me and He never left you even when all these things were happening. He was always there watching, caring, protecting and delivering. The only reason I’m still alive and well, He told me is because He had kept me and watched over me all through. He was there when I passed through the fire. He was there when I passed through the water. He was there when I passed through ice. He never left me alone. He was there with me all through. It makes me so confident about 2009. If He was there with me all through 2008 when things ran south, then He’ll be with me regardless of what 2009 has got awaiting me.

I am so excited…….He never left……and He’ll never leave……….He’s here for keeps……in thick or in thin…………oh! He’s so there……right next to me……..up above me…….watching over me……Oh! I’m so protected………He’s never going to leave me………….Never

  1. Brosie,

This article is the bomb. It demonstrates commitment at its peak. I watched the film about a year ago but i will endeavor to watch it again. I am grateful God never left me.
